City Seeking Applicants for
Two Seats on Active Adult Commission
Persons interested in serving on the City of Fillmore Active Adult Commission are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible. This will be open until filled.
The Active Adult Commission became effective April 9th, 2015 and is made up of five (5) members, who serve four-year staggered terms. The Commission advises the City Council regarding the establishment and provision of services to aging persons in the community. Some of the duties include recommending programs, activities, and policies for the operation of the Fillmore Active Adult Center and conduct monthly Commission meetings open to the public at the Active Adult Center on the first Wednesday of the month.
The Commission currently has two openings of four (4) year terms.
To qualify for appointment you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 50 years of age.
- Must be a resident of Fillmore.
- Must fill out a Commission application and submit to the City Clerk’s Office.
Prospective Commission members will be interviewed by the City Council-Interview Selection Committee with appointment made by the City Council.
