About the Department

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide the best possible facilities and services to meet the ever-changing needs of the residents of Fillmore, in the most cost-effective manner possible.  

The Department is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of city recreational programs, leisure time activities, and special events. Park system planning, design, development and maintenance are also a responsibility of this department. The Parks & Recreation department is committed to the planning, development and operation of the Park and Recreation system to meet community needs within the bounds of resource availability. In conjunction with the Park and Recreation Commission, the Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for the coordination of the City recreation programs, leisure time activities and community special events.
